LUCY Bus

University City District, in partnership with SEPTA, operates the Loop through University City (LUCY) bus, serving hundreds of thousands of passengers annually between 30th Street Station and nearby jobs in University City.

LUCY runs every 30 Minutes or more Monday through Friday between 6:00 am – 9:00 pm, except major holidays (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day).

LUCY is free to students of the University of Pennsylvania and employees of University of Pennsylvania, University of Pennsylvania Health System, University City Science Center, and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. All others can ride using the same payment methods as the rest of SEPTA’s transportation network.

In January of 2026, UCD and SEPTA collaborated to formalize a new stop for both the Green and Gold loops at the corner of 37th and Cuthbert Streets. See the latest LUCY route map below:

Due to construction around Penn Presbyterian Medical Center that will continue through 2026, SEPTA’s route map is not currently accurate. Although the map is outdated, the schedule is accurate. You can download the schedule here, or see it online below:
